Some Back Ground
.I left home in 1980 hoping to one day make my mark in music. I started of on The Glasgow Irish Scene and had a weekly gigs.I was known around the Irish Pubs as Tanya
I went on to being lead singer with a band for a few years on The Country Music Scene in the UK before forming my own band. I sang under the stage name Tanya. I lost heart when bands started breaking up and becoming duo's using drum machines and backing tracks and decided to take some time out . This was not my dream . I made the crossover to The Scottish Folk scene as I love both Country and folk and I do both as well as other genres .in my opinion Folk and country are linked . I like Classic Country , Irish Country Folk both Scottish and Irish ,and all kinds of music . I am a big fan of Iris Dement , Bob Dylan and have found myself interested more and more in good song writer

Colaboration with Tony Kearney
I had a visit from Tony Kearney a few weeks ago Tony is from Cork in Ireland but like me has spent many years away from home and has played all over the London Irish Scene . He is a great accordion player and has worked with several bands and his own band we decided to do some music together as a duo . Tony is also a producer and was keen to record my voice . He came back a few weeks later with his studio right to my living room and we recorded 11 songs just with guitar and vocal he took them back to London and is doing a great job of turning this into a third album . This one is Country and Irish as he feels I have a market there as well. Tony has also enlisted the help of some top Irish Musicians to put their magic on the album and i have to say I am very pleased with the results so far . We will be releasing a single from it very soon
I have been approached by several good writers as well wanting to collaborate on songs and have had some great songs pitched to me . I have a couple of singles which are co writes . Mary Jean Lewis and I are also collaborating and cant wait to hear the outcome of that either in an EP or a full album so things are looking good and I look forward to going on the road again soon .
